
Lavrov in Yerevan: Says Moscow Backs Armenia’s Sovereignty
The foreign ministers of Armenia and Russia (Ararat Mirzoyan, Sergey Lavrov) are scheduled to meet in Yerevan today.
Lavrov, at a joint press conference following the meeting, said Russia views its allied relations with Armenia and the deep ties between the two peoples as important.
“We continue to view the security sector to be one of the most important directions of our allied ties. We are ready to assist, in all possible ways, to ensure Armenia’s defense, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
Mirzoyan’s office reports that the two ministers signed a Program of Consultations and a Plan of Counselling for 2025-2026.
